Delivery Policy

At Decurateur, we offer delivery for indoor and outdoor furniture, home accessories and selected installation-related items across the United Kingdom. Please read this Delivery Policy carefully before placing your order, as it explains how and when your Goods will be delivered, what you need to do before delivery, and what happens if delivery cannot be completed.

1. Delivery Methods

We use different delivery methods depending on the type, size, fragility and destination of the Goods ordered.

Your order may be delivered by:

  • Decurateur’s own delivery team and vehicles for selected items and locations; or
  • a third-party courier, furniture carrier or specialist delivery partner, including **XXX / **** ** or another suitable delivery provider chosen by us at our discretion.

The method of transport used for delivery will be determined by Decurateur based on the nature of the Goods and the delivery address.

2. Delivery Areas

We currently deliver within the United Kingdom.

If you would like delivery outside mainland UK, including to offshore locations, remote areas, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, or any international destination, please contact us before placing your order so that we can confirm whether delivery is available and provide a bespoke quotation where applicable.

3. Delivery Times

Delivery times vary depending on the product.

  • In-stock items are generally delivered within the estimated timeframe shown on the website or confirmed in your order acknowledgement.
  • Made-to-order, bespoke or supplier-order items will have estimated lead times only. These are provided as guidance and may vary depending on production schedules, supplier availability and transport arrangements.
  • Where a week of delivery is quoted, delivery may take place on any day within that week.

All delivery dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed. While we will always try to deliver within the indicated timeframe, delays may occasionally occur due to factors outside our control, including manufacturing delays, supplier issues, weather conditions, transport disruption or access restrictions.

4. Delivery Charges

Delivery charges may vary depending on:

  • the size and weight of the Goods;
  • the delivery location;
  • whether the Goods require a specialist furniture handler;
  • whether room-of-choice delivery, assembly or installation services are required; and
  • whether multiple delivery stages or special handling arrangements apply.

Any delivery, packaging, insurance, transport or handling charges will be shown at checkout, confirmed in your quotation, or set out in your order confirmation. In some cases, these charges may be invoiced separately.

5. Delivery Appointments

For large furniture, fragile items or specialist deliveries, we will contact you in advance to arrange a suitable delivery date or delivery window.

It is your responsibility to ensure that:

  • someone authorised to accept delivery is present at the delivery address;
  • the delivery address and contact details provided are accurate;
  • access to the property is safe and suitable;
  • the Goods will fit through doorways, hallways, staircases, lifts and into the intended room or area of use; and
  • any surfaces intended for hanging, fixing or installation are appropriate.

If we are unable to complete delivery because access is not possible or suitable, additional delivery, return, storage or re-delivery charges may apply.

6. Room of Choice and Placement

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, delivery will be made to the address stated in your order.

For selected furniture deliveries, and where access reasonably permits, Goods may be delivered to the room specified in the order. Delivery is deemed complete once the Goods have been unloaded and placed at the agreed delivery location or in the agreed room.

We reserve the right to refuse delivery beyond the ground floor or to a particular room where, in the opinion of our delivery team or delivery partner, doing so would be unsafe or impractical.

7. Assembly and Installation

Where assembly, unpacking, placement or installation services are included or separately purchased, these services will be carried out at an agreed time, either at the point of delivery or at a separately arranged appointment.

Please note:

  • installation can only be carried out where conditions at the property make it safe and practical to do so;
  • we cannot be held responsible where Goods cannot be installed due to unsuitable walls, ceilings, floors, surfaces or structural conditions; and
  • once installation is completed, you may be asked to sign a delivery and/or installation checklist to confirm satisfactory completion.

8. Split Deliveries

Some orders may be delivered in instalments. This may happen where items have different lead times, come from different suppliers, require different handling methods, or where part of the order is ready before the remainder.

Each delivery may be treated as a separate instalment. A delay affecting one instalment does not automatically entitle you to cancel the rest of the order.

9. Failed Delivery and Re-delivery

If delivery cannot be completed because:

  • no one is available to accept delivery;
  • access to the property is not possible;
  • the Goods do not fit due to insufficient measurements or unsuitable access;
  • delivery instructions were incomplete or inaccurate; or
  • you ask to postpone delivery after the Goods are ready,

we may charge you for any reasonable additional costs incurred, including:

  • storage charges;
  • handling fees;
  • failed delivery fees;
  • specialist carrier charges; and/or
  • re-delivery charges.

If the Goods are ready for delivery and you fail to take delivery within a reasonable period after we notify you, we may place the Goods into storage and charge you for the associated costs.

10. Storage of Goods

If you are unable to take delivery when the Goods are ready, please contact us as soon as possible.

Where storage is available, we may agree to hold the Goods for a limited period. In such cases, we reserve the right to charge reasonable storage, insurance, transport and handling costs.

If delivery or collection is delayed for an extended period and the Goods remain undelivered through no fault of ours, we reserve the right to take further steps in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, including resale or disposal where permitted.

11. Risk and Ownership

Risk in the Goods passes to you upon delivery.

Ownership of the Goods does not pass to you until we have received payment in full and in cleared funds for the relevant order.

12. Inspection on Delivery

You should inspect the Goods as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If any item is missing, visibly damaged in transit, defective, or not as ordered, you must notify us as soon as possible and, in any event, within the time period stated in our Terms and Conditions and Return & Refund Policy.

Where applicable, claims for transit damage, shortages or non-delivery should also be notified in writing to the relevant carrier and to Decurateur.

Please keep all original packaging until you are satisfied that the Goods are in good condition and correct in all respects.

13. Non-Delivery

If you believe your order has not been delivered, you must notify us promptly in writing at info@decurateur.co.uk and, where relevant, also notify the carrier.

Please include your order number, delivery address, full name and contact details in all delivery-related correspondence.

14. Delays Beyond Our Control

We are not liable for delays or failure to deliver where such delay or failure results from events outside our reasonable control. These may include, without limitation:

  • supplier or manufacturing delays;
  • shortages of materials;
  • adverse weather;
  • road or transport disruption;
  • labour shortages or strikes;
  • customs or border delays;
  • force majeure events; or
  • your failure to provide adequate delivery instructions or access.

In such circumstances, delivery times may be extended accordingly.
