The refined language of outdoor design armchairs

The Cora outdoor armchair by Unopiù, complete with seat and back cushions, embodies the essence of high-end outdoor comfort. Designed by Federica Biasi, it combines the solidity of natural teak with the refined lightness of woven rope, offering a cocooning relaxation experience and a timeless style for every outdoor setting.
Created to enhance exclusive spaces, the Cora armchair is a statement piece in contemporary garden furniture.

The Cora design armchair is the result of a project focused on the harmony of forms and the quality of materials. Its soft lines, generous seat and enveloping backrest create an elegant silhouette, perfect for modern, natural or minimalist outdoor settings, as well as for exclusive environments on board yachts and luxury boats.
This teak armchair interacts with the woven rope through a refined balance of solids and voids, strength and lightness. The result is a discreet yet distinctive presence, ideal for completing garden sofa and armchair compositions or refined nautical outdoor lounges with a coherent, elegant and timeless style.

Teak and rope: noble materials for luxury outdoor furniture

The armchair structure is made of solid teak, one of the most widely used and appreciated materials in high-end outdoor furniture thanks to its exceptional durability and stability. Naturally rich in oils and resins, teak offers intrinsic resistance to water, UV rays, temperature fluctuations and humidity, making it ideal for continuously exposed outdoor environments. Even when exposed to rain, intense sunlight, wind or salt air, teak maintains its structural and aesthetic integrity over time, potentially developing a natural silvery patina without losing its mechanical performance.

These same qualities explain the extensive use of teak in the nautical and yachting sector, where it is employed for decks, outdoor furnishings and walking surfaces. In this context, the wood must guarantee maximum resistance to salinity, constant solar radiation and permanent humidity, while maintaining high aesthetic quality and a pleasant tactile feel. The presence of teak in the Cora armchair therefore directly recalls the codes of onboard furnishing, transferring into the domestic outdoor space the same language of reliability, elegance and performance typical of luxury yachts.

The woven rope finish wraps the structure in a sophisticated texture that visually lightens the volume of the armchair while offering high mechanical strength. The handcrafted rope workmanship creates a balance between solidity and formal lightness, enhancing the material contrast with the teak. This element also recalls the nautical world, where ropes, braidings and technical weaves represent not only a structural function but also a strong aesthetic identity.
