Tableau is a multidisciplinary design studio and concept store, founded in copenhagen in 2018 by floral designer Julius Værnes Iversen. Working across disciplines, tableau seeks to challenge and deconstruct established ideas of art and design through a conceptual, collaborative, and experimental approach. Tableau’s practice spans floral design, spatial design, object design, curation, and creative direction. Alongside its gallery and concept store, the studio develops projects that range from small-scale interventions to full-scale installations and environments. Collaboration is at the core of tableau’s practice. By working with artists, designers, and creatives from around the world, tableau aims to break down traditional boundaries between art and design, functional and conceptual, permanent and ephemeral. Founder and creative director Julius Værnes Iversen established Tableau in 2018 in central Copenhagen. With a core mission of challenging established ideas within the institutional art world. Remaining a hands-on part of the studio, Værnes Iversen works day to day as creative director, exhibition curator, and floral, spatial, and object designer, while continuously sourcing and collaborating with new talents from around the world. His practice centers on a broader understanding of space and on how objects, botanicals, and materials shape our experience of environments, with the aim of expanding the perspective of the observer.
